Day One of Becoming a Great Family

Today was Grandpa Dale Anderson's funeral, and boy was it amazing. There was so much happiness and love in that room, that you couldn't even think about being sad. Dale Anderson was a GREAT man and he has truly inspired me and my amazing husband to be better.

Dale and Sue were incredible people which rolled over into becoming incredible parents. Dinners lasted hours because everyone just loved being around one another and talking about life and discussing gospel topics. Happy, gospel centered music was always playing in their home. Their children learned to play different instruments. They constantly just talked about the gospel in every setting--making dinner, driving around town, after a sport event--pretty much you name it, they were able to bring up and talk about the gospel.

Drew and I had a great day today as a couple that honestly just melted my heart. I stood by Drew throughout all the different family events of the funeral, and Drew was so very touchy, and constantly reaching out to let me hold his hand. We didn't argue, we just strived to serve one another and make each other happy. We went on a date to the mall, and it was just like old times while dating. I honestly loved every minute of today with my dreamy husband. He makes me want to be better.

After the funeral, we talked about how we can be like the Anderson family. We both really want it, and so we're off to a good start in that aspect. For now, we are going to work on using only uplifting language and not complaining around others.

We are going to start now to become the best parents, companions, family out there. And with God's help, and using the Atonement each day, I know we can do it <3
